Jarak Jauh (Indonesian: “long distance”) remixes the gamelan orchestra from Java, using sampling, instrument building and live players, to create psychedelic collages that range from the wild to serene. Nick Brooke’s work is based on a decade-long collaboration with gamelan musicians and dancers.
